On a catamaran, the ropes used are very important, so the Excess shipyard wanted to work with a reputable company to create the lines for Excess.

Two challenges were put to launched to Corderie Lancelin:

  • To give a strong visual identity to the running rigging. With harmonious tones and different rope designs to facilitate the use of these lines.
  • To redefine the range of possibilities in the field of ropes, in particular by widening the spectrum of use of the various lines on the boat.

For the ropes, the request from the sailing catamaran brand Excess, was a first. We wanted them to think about the lines used on these sailboats in their entirety (technology + aesthetics) - a great challenge!

The rope-maker therefore opted for a range of colors specific to the Excess brand, then worked on the fiber of its ropes with innovations inspired by racing boats. Excess boats are equipped with ropes that are easy to use (both day and night), resistant, durable, safe and also very beautiful on board!

This led to some intense work carried out by passionate men and women. A beautiful story of the partnership between the Excess catamaran shipyard and Corderie Lancelin!
